Candle Care
Taking care of your candles ensures they burn beautifully and last longer. Here are some easy tips to help you enjoy your candles safely and effectively.
First, always trim the wick to about ¼ inch before lighting your candle. You can use a special wick trimmer, nail clippers, or even your fingers. A trimmed wick promotes a cleaner burn, prevents large flames, and reduces soot buildup on the glass. Remember, do not trim the wick while the candle is burning.
Next, always burn your candles within sight. Never leave them unattended, and extinguish the flame before leaving a room or going to sleep. This simple step helps prevent fires and keeps your space safe.
Make sure to place your candle on a heat-resistant surface, away from flammable materials such as fabrics and curtains. Avoid placing it on cold surfaces like marble or glass, as they can crack when in contact with heat.
Keep your candles away from drafts. Drafts can cause the candle to burn unevenly, affecting its lifespan and performance. Also, avoid burning candles for more than four hours at a time, and stop using them when there’s about ¼ inch of wax left.
When it comes time to extinguish your candle, dip the wick into the melted wax instead of blowing it out or using a lid. This method not only prevents smoke but also keeps the wick supple for next time.
Finally, remember to keep candles out of reach of children and pets to ensure everyone's safety. With these simple tips, you’ll enjoy your candles to the fullest!
